Training Diary Week 1

I’ve had most of this week off work due to CoVID-19 pod rosters. Which has made it so easy to fit in my runs! But the department is going back to business-as-usual rosters on Monday – hopefully I can keep up the consistent progress with a full work schedule (though I now have a pair of the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% 2 to keep me feeling bouncy when my inner couch potato threatens to take over – first impressions coming soon).

My new Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% 2, which on Strava has been nicknamed Flounder after the fish from The Little Mermaid.

Total Distance Covered

22 km. I’ve taken up that somewhat arbitrary running rule of not increasing my weekly mileage by more than 10% per week, so this total will be turtling its way towards 50 km over the next several months.

Run Breakdown

This week I ran a 7km easy-moderate run, a 3km (super) gentle interval training run, and a 12 km longer run. The Achilles are feeling toasty but not painful.

Crosstraining

Cross training has been pretty minimal this week though the boyfriend and I simultaneously did this 30 minute YouTube yoga workout video in our respective cities.
